Daffodil Field

We have the most beautiful daffodil field a couple of miles from my house. Every year, tons of people take their kids there to take pictures. We took the kids there a couple of days ago to try to get some good ones. They turned out pretty good, but Winslow isn't quite sitting up yet so we had to prop him up. History of the Easter Lily

I have always thought that Easter Lilies were the most beautiful flower. They have always reminded me of Easter, springtime, and new life. I decided to do some research on their history, because beyond symbolizing Easter I never really knew. There are many different ways that the lilies fit into biblical history. One suggest that when Eve was banished from the Garden of Eden, beautiful lilies sprang from the ground as she cried tears of repentance. It is also said that lilies sprouted from the ground during Christ's final hours as he sweated on the cross. The Lily also represents motherhood. When it was announced that the Virgin Mary was to be the Jesus's mother, the angel Gabriel extended her a bunch of white Lilies. The Lilies represented purity, innocence, hope, and virtue.
I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about the biblical history of the Easter Lily. They are so much more than a beautiful flower, they are a symbol of hope.

My favorite verse

I wanted to share with you all a bible verse that means so much to me. Whenever I feel like nothing is going right, I say this verse: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future..." Jeremiah 29:11. This verse has gotten me through some tough times in my life. It makes me realize that everything happens for a reason, and God does have bigger plans for us. I've been a little overwhelmed lately, still trying to get into the hang of having two children, going back to work, and keeping a house clean! At the end of the day, when I lay down in bed, I know I have a million things to be thankful for; and I thank God for my crazy life!

Beach Trip

We decided since the weather was going to be so perfect here, that we would head down to the beach for the weekend! It was 78 degrees here Saturday and Sunday, and just wonderful! We cooked out by the water, did some shopping, and took the kids to the aquarium. I love Sea Turtles, so I had to take a picture of this little guy! And we also saw this little guy! The kids and I hanging out on the deck. Miss Priss posing by the pier! Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend!

Find of the week!

I wanted to share with everyone my find of the week! It's from K-mart, yes, I know, K-mart! Normally I never go in there, but when I saw this cute table in a recent "House Beautiful" magazine, I decided to head over. I was in shock that this table was from K-mart, it's so simple and classy! And was in more shock when I realized it was only $69.99! I had to have it! It is perfect for a corner (I have it in my dining room) with a plant, cute lamp, or pictures. They also had a coordinating desk and chair that I wanted for my office, but unfortunetly it isn't in my budget right now! It is good quality and very sturdy. Lilly Animal Crackers

By now I'm sure you all have heard about Lilly Pulitzer's collaboration with Barnum's animal crackers. They are so cute I can't hardly stand it! I have searched every grocery store in my town and still cannot find them! I want to have a Lilly birthday party for my little girl this fall and these would be perfect for favors!!! I would love to hear if anyone else has found them or seen them anywhere!

Springtime Nests

I just got done making these adorable little "springtime nests" for my daughter as a surprise. They are so yummy and so super easy to make! She just loved them! I wanted to share the recipie so everyone could enjoy!

Springtime Nests

1 c. butterscotch chips
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
1/3 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. chow mein noodles
2 c. cornflakes, crushed lightly
Malted milk egg chocolates or jelly beans

1. Combine butterscotch, corn syrup, peanut butter, and sugar in a microwaveable bowl. Microwave for 1 to 2 minutes, until melted, stirring at 30 second intervals.
2.Stir in noodles and cornflakes until equally coated with mixture. Quickly drop "nests" onto waxed paper! and make an idention on each for eggs. Add 2-3 eggs per nest.
All packaged up and ready to go to the neighboors! (Mersina wanted to share some with the kids across the street).

Spring!!!!!!!

Spring has sprung in NC!!! I am so excited to see green again! The past 3 days have been 70-ish here! Let me tell you, it's hard to be in a bad mood with weather like that!
Buttercups (that's what we call them in the South) have been my favorite flower since I was a little girl. Seeing these in my yard is a sure sign spring is very close!
My puppies cannot stand for me to be outside without them, so if you look close, you can see them peeking out the door trying to figure out what their Mommy is doing! Is Spring starting to arrive where you live?

Nails!

I have recently discovered what is quite possibly my favorite polish color ever! I have always been a fan of O.P.I., but lately their color collections have been so dark and dull. I was looking for something bright, happy, and pinkish. I found it! Not only is it the perfect color, it has the cutest name, "Elephantastic Pink"! I was sold. It also matches perfectly with my "Out to lunch Moonglow" dress!

Little man's 4 month birthday

Little man is 4 months old today! It's hard to believe that much time has gone by! He is a smiley little thing, and puts everything in his mouth. He loves listening to his sister talk and sing, and watching the puppies play. He rolls over from his stomach to his back, and talks up a storm! I love you little man!

The Bachelor Finale

Is anyone else as frustrated with "The Bachelor" as I am? Tonight is the big finale, but I think we all know who he is going to pick. Jake seems like such a nice, smart guy, but apparently not as smart as I originally thought. Does anybody else know what he sees in Vienna? I swear, if he picks her, I'm boycotting this show....... (well, probably not, but saying that makes me feel better!)
