Splish Splash

I just wanted to share a cute little picture of little man in the tub last night! He has now graduated to taking his baths in the sink as oppossed to his baby tub, which is so much easier! Just had to share! Hope everyone is having a great day!

I need your help!

My next big house project is re-doing my children's playroom upstairs. We just replaced the carpeting with a beautiful, light colored bamboo flooring. I found this amazing Waverly fabric with goldfish that I would love to use for valances at www.fabric.com. What do yall think? Is it appropriate for a child's playroom? It reminds me of Lilly, but not your traditional pink and green. If I were to go with this fabric, what color should I paint the walls; pool blue or a nice coral? It always helps to get someone else's opinion! Be honest!

I'm Back!

I'm back from a very long bloggy break! The past two weeks have been very busy for us! We have been in New Jersey, visiting family, and to Pennsylvania to the Lilly Wearhouse sale, and in Virginia visiting my dear friend, Joni. But let's be clear- traveling with two young children for 10 days is NO vacation!
The wearhouse sale was wonderful! We got there on the first day, Wednesday, about 11 am. There was a line to get in, but it moved surprisingly fast. (Maybe I was just so excited that time flew by!) It was so nice to see so many Lilly lovers in one place, and everyone was in such a good mood! I had no idea what to expect, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! There was a wonderful selection of dresses, shorts, bathing suits, and accessories. By the time we got there, however, all the $40 Murfee Scarves were gone! There was a big selection of men's bathing suits, which my husband got two of. (yes, he is a Lilly lover, too!) I purchased three dresses, one pair of shorts, the cinch one-piece bathing suit (the one I blogged about), a skirt, and two dress for my daughter. I also purchased some stationary items and keychains. I have to say, the Lilly employees are the best! They are the most friendly group, and so incredibly helpful! Oh, and Janie is gorgeous and a little ray of sunshine!!! Bottom line is, I will defiantly return in the fall! Just not with TWO little ones!! I missed you all!!

The perfect summer bag!

While at the beach this weekend, I decided to do a little shopping. There is alot of cute little boutiques at the beach, and you can always find some cute, unique things. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon quite possibly the cutest handbags ever! I immediately fell in love with them all, but unfortunately hubby said I had to pick one. (Note to self: next time, leave hubby at home!) They are handwoven in Thailand, I think, and have the most beautiful ribbons and embellishments. A few of my favorites: I love this beautiful red and white and shell handbag. Perfect for the Fourth of July or a summer cookout at the beach. I loved this one, too, simply because seahorses are the cutest little things!

These are my favorites! I purchased the hot pink bee one, which matches perfectly with just about all my Lilly dresses! If you have been reading my blog awhile, you know about my obsession with bees! I really liked this one, too, because of the pink and green ribbon. (Maybe next time!)
Aren't these just the most adorable, preppy bags?! They are called Bosom Buddy Bags, and you can check out their website here. They range in price from about $40 to $200. I think the bee clutch I purchased was around $40. Be sure to check them out, there is so many different ribbon colors and embellishments to choose from. Happy Shopping!!

I have a fun post planned for tommorrow, but after that, we will be gone again for a week! Is anybody else going? Well, see you back here tommorrow!

A little house tour

I thought it would be fun to give you a little tour of my home. I'll do one room in each post. Just remember, it's a work in progress! I wanted to do my favorite room first, my dining room. I guess it's because the hubby and kids rarely go in there, so it stays nice and clean. (It's funny how fast a man and kids can destroy a house!) I just finished these covering these chairs this weekend. And yes, that's my K-Mart tray table! This is my beloved chandelier I bought from an antique store for $4o and spray painted sparkly silver! I need about a million of these shelves to display all my little collectables! (mostly bunnies!) Since I am not very computer savvy, I didn't know how to turn this picture around (Just turn your computer or head to the side :)). This china cabinet is way too small for me, but it will just have to do until I find the perfect one. My favorite picture of my favorite little girl!

Hope you enjoyed a little tour of my dining room! Next time, my office!

Bathing Suit Season

Since I was pregnant last summer, I didn't get to buy a cute bathing suit; just a maternity one (ugh!) I fell in love with this one the minute I saw it! It's Lilly, it's toile, and it's got removeable straps. How much more perfect can you get?! The problem is, my husband disagrees. He does NOT want me to wear a one-piece, even though that's what I feel most comfortable in. He says it's old-ladyish. So I need some advice- what do you guys think?

Caspari at TJ Maxx

Everyone that knows me well knows that I love stationary and paper products, especially Caspari. It's definetly not cheap, but lately my local TJ Maxx has had a ton of it! Every week they have something a little different. I found all this cute stuff the past couple of weeks.
I was so thrilled when I found these dalmation birthday invitations! They were only $2.99 for ten, so I've already planned to use them for Winslow's first birthday. I also found this beautiful Caspari ribbon for just $2! Check your local TJ's; there's no telling what you might find!

My recent beauty obssession!

I wanted to share with everyone a beauty product that I found that is amazing! I've always had fragile, breakable lashes, so I decided to try Loreal's Lash Boosting Serum to help condition them. I wish I had of taken a before and after picture because this stuff really works! You apply it to your lashes twice a day, before bedtime and in the morning before applying mascara. In about a week it made my lashes longer, stronger, and thicker-looking. I love it! It is a little pricey (about $13), but I got a coupon out of the paper a couple of weeks ago, and I'm sure you could also find a coupon online. Give it try, I'm sure you'll love it too!

I was not paid to do this article.

Picture Day

So today was picture day at Miss Priss' preschool. Of course she wanted to wear Lilly, and of course, I wanted her to also. She looked adorable, but I wanted her to wear this cute pink ring that matched her dress. You wouldn't believe what my four year-old said. Me: "Why don't you wear this cute pink ring that matches your dress?" Miss Priss: "No! I don't wear fake jewelry anymore!" Oh. Well excuse me! I'm 27 and I still wear some fake jewelry! Have I created a monster?!!!

The Best Ever (And Easiest) Peanut Butter Cookies!

I have just got to share this recipe with y'all! I have already made it 3 times this weekend! If you love peanut butter, you will love these cookies! And best of all, there is only 3 ingredients!!

Easy Peanut Butter Cookies

1 Cup peanut butter
1 Cup sugar
1 Egg

Mix all ingredients in a mixing bowl to form a dough. Roll into 1 inch balls, then roll in sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet and press an "X" pattern on top of the cookies with a fork. Bake on 350 for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

Sorry for the lack of pictures, but my husband kept eating them before I could get one! They are amazing, though, so please try them!

What's blooming in my yard

I love spring! I especially love all the new flowers that come up in the spring. I thought it would be fun to take you on a little tour of what's blooming in my yard! If you are from the south, chances are you have an azealea bush in your yard. I have about four different colors in my yard, but these are my favorite! Also, we have a Dogwood tree, the North Carolina state flower! This is a "bleeding heart" plant. Very unique and fun! Last but not least, my favorite, the Iris. I just love their vivid purple color! Enjoy all the beautiful new life around you, because God created it for us to enjoy. Happy Spring!

The Very Preppy Caterpillar

In my pre-school class we have been learning all about spring, and reading Eric Carle's "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." So for our craft, naturally, we made caterpillars! Imagine my delight when my daughter chose to do hers pink and green! (It was a very proud moment for me!) When I asked her why she chose those colors, she responded "because they are Lilly colors!" So instead of a very hungry Caterpillar, we made a very "preppy" Caterpillar!

PS- don't forget to enter my giveaway, it ends AT 6PM tommorrow!

I heart Target!

I just found the most adorable black patent sandals at Target for $24.99! They are made by Miss Trish of Capri for Target, and absolute perfection! Target carried this brand last year, but before I could get the sandals I wanted they had sold out of my size. So if you want these beauties, word of advice, act fast! They were not on sale yet, but if you keep the receipt and they go on sale within two weeks, you can take the receipt back and get a price adjustment. They had adorable ones for children, also, but of course they didn't have my minnie's size! (Yes, we had a major meltdown on our hands!) I can't wait to wear these with khaki shorts, a black tee, and a tan this summer!

(Sorry about the picture quality, I could NOT get a good picture! Maybe due to the screaming 4 year old in the background!)

My wish list

I thought it would be fun to put a little list together of what I would buy if I were rich and could buy anything I desired (I'm not and I can't)! First on my list would be a Lilly Pulitzer golf cart (for cruising around our neighboorhood at the beach), a David Yurman Morganite ring (just a mere $2650, ha!) A Bottega Veneta pink tote,
A Lilly Pulitzer Linda Marie dress, Lilly Pulitzer Later Gator Sandals, A OndadeMar Morrocan cover-up, And last, but certainly not least, the Lilly Pulitzer Treasure Chest quilt and bed set! Realistically, none of these things are in my budget right now, but it's nice to dream!

OMG, when I saw this I just about fell out of my seat! Lilly has made a bike! I really need this, but unfortunately I don't think the hubby will share in my enthusiasm! I can still dream, right? Check it out for yourself on Lilly's website under new arrivals.

Daffodil Field

We have the most beautiful daffodil field a couple of miles from my house. Every year, tons of people take their kids there to take pictures. We took the kids there a couple of days ago to try to get some good ones. They turned out pretty good, but Winslow isn't quite sitting up yet so we had to prop him up. Mersina loves having her picture made! Enjoy the rest of your week!!!!!!!!
